“The‌ ‌chance‌ ‌of‌ ‌an‌ ‌education‌ ‌is‌ ‌a‌ ‌chance‌ ‌to‌ ‌escape‌ ‌poverty,‌ ‌to‌ ‌improve‌ ‌health‌ ‌and‌ ‌to‌ ‌enhance‌ opportunities.”‌

Introduction‌  Why is Children’s Education Important?

Children’s Education. If‌ ‌success‌ ‌is‌ ‌your‌ ‌goal,‌ ‌then‌ ‌education‌ ‌should‌ ‌be‌ ‌a‌ ‌priority.‌ ‌It‌ ‌is‌ ‌no‌ ‌secret‌ ‌that‌ ‌providing‌ ‌an‌ ‌early‌ ‌education‌ can‌ ‌play‌ ‌an‌ ‌important‌ ‌role‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌development‌ ‌of‌ ‌children.‌ ‌Education‌ ‌is‌ ‌without‌ ‌any‌ ‌doubt‌ ‌the‌ ‌most‌ important‌ ‌ingredient‌ ‌to‌ ‌bring‌ ‌about‌ ‌a‌ ‌change‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌world.‌ ‌‌Shashi‌ ‌Tharoor‌ ‌in‌ ‌his‌ ‌TED‌ ‌talk‌ ‌narrated‌ ‌a‌ beautiful‌ ‌story‌ ‌about‌ ‌a‌ ‌girl‌ ‌called‌ ‌Chitra‌ ‌Mani‌ ‌living‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌remote‌ ‌village‌ ‌in‌ ‌Tamil‌ ‌Nadu.‌ ‌She‌ ‌had‌ ‌recently‌ learned‌ ‌how‌ ‌to‌ ‌read‌ ‌and‌ ‌write.‌ ‌She‌ ‌proudly‌ ‌wrote‌ ‌her‌ ‌name‌ ‌in‌ ‌her‌ ‌native‌ ‌language‌ ‌in‌ ‌a‌ ‌piece‌ ‌of‌ ‌paper,‌ ‌he‌ asked‌ ‌her‌ ‌”What‌ ‌does‌ ‌being‌ ‌able‌ ‌to‌ ‌read‌ ‌and‌ ‌write‌ ‌mean‌ ‌to‌ ‌you?‌ ‌she‌ ‌replied,‌ ‌”Now,‌ ‌I‌ ‌can‌ ‌see‌ ‌the‌ destination‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌bus,‌ ‌I‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌need‌ ‌to‌ ‌ask‌ ‌anybody‌ ‌where‌ ‌the‌ ‌bus‌ ‌is‌ ‌going.‌ ‌When‌ ‌I‌ ‌get‌ ‌to‌ ‌the‌ ‌big‌ ‌city‌ ‌of‌
Gandhi‌ ‌Puram,‌ ‌I‌ ‌can‌ ‌read‌ ‌the‌ ‌street‌ ‌signs‌ ‌and‌ ‌find‌ ‌where‌ ‌I‌ ‌need‌ ‌to‌ ‌go.‌ ‌I‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌feel‌ helpless‌ ‌anymore”‌ ‌‌This‌ story‌ ‌demonstrates‌ ‌how‌ ‌fundamentally‌ ‌important‌ educating‌ ‌oneself‌ ‌is.‌ ‌It‌ ‌clearly‌ ‌portrays‌ ‌the‌ ‌kind‌ ‌of‌ empowerment,‌ ‌literacy‌ ‌gives‌ ‌each‌ ‌and‌ ‌every‌ ‌one.‌ ‌‌Neurological‌ ‌research‌ ‌shows‌ ‌that‌ ‌the‌ ‌children’s‌ ‌overall‌
brain‌ ‌development‌ ‌is‌ ‌mostly‌ ‌affected‌ ‌by‌ ‌the‌ ‌early‌ ‌years.‌ ‌Moreover,‌ ‌babies‌ ‌start‌ learning‌ ‌about‌ ‌the‌ ‌world‌around‌ ‌them‌ ‌from‌ ‌the‌ ‌prenatal‌ ‌period.‌ ‌This‌ ‌itself‌ ‌should‌ be‌ ‌reason‌ ‌enough‌ ‌to‌ ‌optimize‌ ‌the‌ ‌early‌ ‌years‌ ‌of‌ children’s lives. This is the best investment that can be made as a society to ensure its future success.
